Indu Ramachandran, PhD

Indu Ramachandran, PhD, is Executive Director, Translational Medicine at Context Therapeutics and a translational medicine leader with more than 15 years of experience in immunology, oncology, and cell and gene therapy. She has led translational, biomarker, and companion diagnostic strategies across multiple clinical-stage programs, advancing novel therapeutics from discovery through clinical development.

Prior to joining Context, Dr. Ramachandran served as Senior Director and Head of Translational Development at Century Therapeutics, where she built the company’s translational medicine function and capabilities and led translational strategy for an iPSC-derived cell therapy portfolio spanning oncology and autoimmune diseases. Her work established clinical pharmacology and biomarker frameworks that informed dose selection and development strategy. Previously, at Adaptimmune, she led translational efforts for multiple engineered T-cell therapy programs and generated key translational insights supporting the development of afamitresgene autoleucel (Tecelra®), the first FDA-approved TCR-T cell therapy for synovial sarcoma.

Dr. Ramachandran earned her PhD in Immunology from Baylor College of Medicine, where she studied dendritic cell biology and cancer vaccines. She completed postdoctoral training at The Wistar Institute and Moffitt Cancer Center, where her research focused on myeloid cell-mediated immune regulation and chemoresistance in cancer. Based in the Philadelphia region, she is committed to translating cutting-edge science into transformative therapies for patients while supporting the growth of the local biotechnology ecosystem.
